45% of Russian Transport Companies Use Artificial Intelligence
Russia is moving toward comprehensive regulation of digital technologies in transport

In Russia, 45% of transport-sector organizations are using artificial intelligence technologies, Deputy Transport Minister Boris Tashimov said at the International Transport and Logistics Forum.
He said authorities are preparing a regulatory framework to govern the sector, including a draft framework law outlining general principles for the use of artificial intelligence.
A separate law on highly automated vehicles is also in preparation, which is expected to move the sector from experimental regimes to full-scale deployment. According to Tashimov, by 2028, companies currently operating in pilot programs will be able to fully use their technologies within legally established frameworks.
Data Processing, Computer Vision, and Modeling
The Ministry of Transport and the Tsifrovoy transport i logistika (Digital Transport and Logistics Association) identified the most common applications of artificial intelligence in the sector. These include processing unstructured data, computer vision, predictive modeling and optimization, predictive analytics, and speech recognition.
Earlier at the forum, Russian President Vladimir Putin described a technological shift in transportation and logistics. He pointed to the emergence of advanced transport modes, as well as the use of robotics and autonomous systems.
