An Interactive Cashback Map Launches in Russia, Showing the Best Deals Nearby

Russia’s T-Bank has introduced a new geolocation-based cashback service that helps users find the most profitable retail offers within walking distance — while giving small businesses a powerful customer-acquisition tool.

Cashback, but Hyperlocal

A new interactive map inside the latest version of the T-Bank mobile app now highlights local stores offering discounts or cashback. The feature, branded as “Cashback in Your Area,” is part of the bank’s growing advertising platform.

The idea is simple: users open the app, see a map of nearby supermarkets and retail locations, and select where they can shop with the highest cashback or an active promotion.

This generates a steady flow of customers to local stores, helps increase foot traffic, and raises both revenue and average order value.

For merchants, the system is equally convenient: businesses can connect on their own through a personal dashboard, set up offers, manage cashback percentages, and monitor performance analytics — all without hiring a marketing expert. If help is needed, T-Bank’s support team can guide them through setup.

“Small businesses have always struggled to find affordable and effective promotion tools. Many simply avoided advertising because it was too complex or expensive. Our goal is to help any business — from a grocery shop to a beauty salon — grow and reach its customers. Today, more than 2,500 companies use the service, and there are over 100,000 partner locations on the map across Russia. On average, conversion to purchase increases by 60% within the first month.”

Full Sales Funnel Visibility

All cashback offers automatically appear across multiple in-app sections — “Increased Cashback,” “Partner Cashback,” and the “Cashback in Your Area” map. The reach is significant: more than 15 million users visit the “Cashback & Bonuses” section every month.

The model is performance-based — merchants pay only for completed purchases, not for impressions or clicks. And the audience is highly targeted: only users who are physically near the store and actively searching for deals will see the offer.

T-Bank emphasizes that businesses can now track the entire funnel, from viewing a deal on the map to completing a purchase via POS terminal.

More Offers, More Customers

The project illustrates how geolocation-driven marketing tools are becoming a bridge between banks and small businesses. They enable local commerce, strengthen banks’ role as digital partners, and unlock new data-driven customer-engagement channels.

Future development may include new types of offers (repair services, entertainment, food delivery), personalized deals based on user data, card-linked promotions, and push-notifications with dynamic pricing.

Although the current version is focused on the Russian market, the technology itself — cashback maps paired with efficiency analytics — could be exported to other fintech ecosystems, especially in countries where small business banking is mature.
