Rostec Unveils a New Generation of Medical Technologies

Rostec is preparing to showcase nearly 50 next‑generation medical technologies in Moscow, highlighting Russia’s growing capabilities in biomedical engineering and critical healthcare infrastructure

At the Russian Health Week in Moscow, held from December 8 to 11, the state corporation Rostec will present an extensive lineup of cutting‑edge medical solutions. The showcase spans cardiology, intensive care, ophthalmology, and cold‑chain logistics, reflecting Russia’s accelerating progress in high‑tech healthcare manufacturing.

One of the most important segments of the exhibition focuses on advanced biomedical storage systems. POZIS, a Rostec enterprise, will demonstrate the MNT‑30 ultra‑low‑temperature freezer chest designed for plasma and biopreparations. The system maintains temperatures down to –86 °C, using microprocessor‑based controls to ensure stability and instantly alert clinicians to any deviation.

Another highlight is the VacProtect VPA‑200 medical refrigerator, engineered specifically for vaccines and immunobiological materials. Its key strength lies in integrated cold‑storage batteries that preserve the required temperature for up to 24 hours during a power outage — a critical capability for maintaining vaccine viability in remote regions or emergency situations.

Assistive Technologies Redefining Patient Support

Among the most anticipated innovations is LISA, a lidar‑sonar assistive device for people with visual impairments. The system continuously scans the surrounding environment and translates spatial information into audio cues and haptic feedback. Its vibration bracelets intensify their signals as the user approaches obstacles, while its built‑in camera can read text and recognize familiar objects. The first working prototype is now nearing completion.

These technologies, developed across Rostec’s medical engineering ecosystem, aim to strengthen national healthcare resilience and reduce reliance on imported equipment. They also position Russia competitively on global markets as countries increasingly seek high‑reliability, locally manufacturable medical devices.

By expanding access to advanced diagnostics, safe biostorage, and assistive innovations, Rostec’s portfolio contributes not only to the modernization of Russian healthcare but also to improving patient outcomes worldwide.
