Authorities in the Moscow region have begun preparations for the upcoming heating season, with the effort extending beyond conventional pipe replacement projects. Regional officials plan to focus heavily on the rollout of smart utility technologies.

One of the central initiatives is the Tsifrovaya kotelnaya (Digital Boiler House) project. By the end of 2026, officials expect modernization work to cover up to 70% of utility facilities across the region. The sites will be equipped with sensor systems capable of monitoring temperature, pressure, and voltage in real time. Dispatchers will be able to track the status of each boiler facility through online dashboards.

The region is also expanding the use of the Inzhenernye seti (Engineering Networks) information platform. The system combines data and digital infrastructure maps from more than 200 utility providers. Artificial intelligence tools analyze weak points in the network and identify where repairs are most urgently needed.
