Russia Showcases Digital Blasting Tech at Mining.Ugol 2025

New Russian software-hardware systems aim to boost the precision and efficiency of rock fragmentation in the mining industry.

At the 'Mining.Ugol 2025' exhibition in Novokuznetsk, Russia introduced advanced digital technologies for drilling and blasting operations in the mining sector. These innovations focus on integrating IT solutions into the complex chain of processes used to break or crush rock material.

Among the highlights were two systems: the Gravix system, which analyzes the fragmentation of rock particles, and the Volna system, which controls the detonation speed of explosives. Both were developed by Russian companies Rostelecom and Davtekh.

Experts say these digital tools directly improve operational efficiency and the economic resilience of mining enterprises. Their deployment is supported by growing partnerships between mining companies and IT developers, allowing for rapid introduction of new technologies to the market. Ultimately, this approach helps raise operational quality and advances Russia’s technological independence in the mining sector.
