Russian Universities to Launch Joint Program for Next-Gen Engineers

A new academic initiative aims to train specialists in advanced mobile communications and digital infrastructure.

Starting in September 2025, Russian universities will launch a collaborative academic program to train highly skilled engineers for the next generation of telecommunications. The initiative is a joint effort between Transbaikal State University and Tomsk University of Control Systems and Radioelectronics, as reported by TASS citing the Ministry for the Development of the Russian Far East and Arctic.

The program will focus on preparing engineers capable of designing, deploying, and maintaining mobile communication systems that meet the demands of the digital economy and telecom industry. At Transbaikal State University, the new specialization will be available to incoming students during the upcoming admissions cycle.

The curriculum will include courses on signal processing, mobile network design and operation, wireless technologies, and the Internet of Things. Students will also have access to the educational resources of both universities through remote learning platforms.

This initiative is part of the 'Priority 2030' academic leadership project which aims to transform Far Eastern universities into major science and technology hubs.
