Russia Uses AI to Craft a Signature Perfume

A group of university students in Russia have created a new fragrance using artificial intelligence trained on tens of thousands of scent combinations.

Students at Innopolis University in Tatarstan, Russia, have developed a unique fragrance with help from artificial intelligence. The project resulted in a composition called Synthetic Dream (SD-1), a scent crafted through collaboration between a custom-trained neural network and a professional perfumer.

The AI was trained to analyze over 40,000 scent combinations and was guided by user preferences collected from fragrance connoisseurs. While the initial product is a room spray, the student team plans to expand into a full fragrance line.

Looking ahead, they hope to partner with established perfume brands to deliver customized scents tailored to specific client needs.

Russia is seeing a growing trend in AI-powered creativity. Neural networks are already composing music, generating visual art, and even writing and directing films. A feature-length movie called 'Genghis Khan,' created by a robot, is already showing in Russian and international theaters.

Another AI-driven film in development explores the ethical implications of resurrecting a loved one through technology. The story follows a man who creates a digital replica of his deceased wife and begins to uncover her secrets. The film raises questions about the boundaries between humanity and machines.
