Digital Transformation in Auto Distribution: New IT Solution Automates the Entire Deal Cycle

Digitalization of business processes is becoming a key driver of efficiency in the automotive sector.

RT-Tekhpriyomka (part of Rostekh) has introduced a specialized CRM system for managing vehicle supply operations. The B2B solution automates the full transaction cycle – from request registration to delivery closure and preparation of the complete documentation package. The system is designed for auto dealers handling large contracts that require control over extensive documentation, financial terms and multi-stage approvals.

What Is New

The CRM system brings together core supply processes within a single digital environment, including request registration, deal tracking, document management, preparation of commercial offers and contracts, and contract lifecycle management with limit control. A key focus is the automation of financial operations. The platform calculates supplier margins, monitors framework agreement limits and automatically checks compliance with deal conditions, preventing overruns of approved procurement volumes. Built-in reminders help managers stay aligned with customers. The system also provides structured data storage and gives supplier management tools to oversee the contract portfolio.

The system is planned to be integrated with 1C to enable automatic invoice generation and data exchange between platforms.

Why It Matters

For Russia, this is another example of the development of applied enterprise software within the industrial and transport ecosystem. IT import substitution is moving beyond basic office and accounting tools toward specialized solutions for complex B2B processes. If successful, such systems can reduce operational risks in vehicle supply, accelerate the transition to unified digital workflows and lower dependence on foreign CRM and SCM platforms.

The development aligns with a global trend, the automotive industry and adjacent sectors are shifting supply and contract management to digital platforms integrated with ERP systems and analytics.

Toward an Industry Supply Management Platform

With adaptation to local regulatory frameworks, the system could find demand in markets that require secure solutions, import-independent architectures and large-scale equipment supply under corporate or government contracts. This is particularly relevant for countries engaged in industrial cooperation with Russia and familiar with the 1C ecosystem.

For the domestic market, the solution has several growth paths. First, it could evolve from a CRM into an industry platform for managing vehicle supply and integrate more deeply with 1C. If fully implemented, the product could become part of an end-to-end workflow covering CRM, accounting, invoicing, closing documents and analytics. Second, expansion beyond auto dealerships. The system could be applied not only in automotive distribution but also in the supply of specialized machinery, corporate transport, industrial equipment and other categories of hardware.

CRM Systems Market

In recent years, the Russian CRM market has shown steady growth driven by increasing demand for automation of customer relationship management processes. According to TAdviser, the market grew by 20% in 2023 to more than 28.2 billion rubles (approximately $310 million), and by 15% in 2024 to 32.4 billion rubles (approximately $355 million). The main driver has been the exit of foreign vendors and rising demand for domestic IT solutions.

In 2024, participants at the CarX forum and representatives of the auto industry emphasized the need for a unified digital landscape that connects automakers, dealers, banks, leasing companies and insurers. Case studies of vehicle sales based on a “single-window” model were also presented.

The global trend also reflects broader digitalization of automotive supply chains. In 2023, BMW announced an expansion of its partnership with SAP, including digitalization of critical business areas such as supply chains, procurement, warehousing and production. In 2025, SAP highlighted the development of Catena-X, an ecosystem for secure data exchange across the automotive value chain.

Maturation of Enterprise Software

The emergence of this system signals a broader maturation of Russian enterprise software. Rostekh demonstrates that IT import substitution is no longer limited to replacing office suites and basic ERP systems but is moving deeper into specialized solutions for specific industrial processes.

In the short term, the product is likely to develop as a sector-focused B2B tool for auto distribution and adjacent equipment supply. Over time, it may evolve into a broader contract supply management platform for industrial customers, particularly if deeply integrated with 1C and analytics modules.

Experts highlight several global trends in industrial digitalization. First, the growing role of IT in core business processes, from quality control to managing distributed teams and supply chains. While companies previously concentrated spending on equipment, analysts at Fictiv estimate that about 30% of total investment by large industrial firms is now directed toward IT
