Nizhny Novgorod — Russia’s High‑Tech Powerhouse

Nizhny Novgorod’s new IT campus “NEIMARK” is launching five cutting‑edge programs to train specialists in AI, cybersecurity, microelectronics, digital construction, and hardware‑software integration—and to fuel Russia’s rise as a technology leader

Five Programs, a Million Opportunities

In 2025–2026, the “NEIMARK” IT campus will roll out five specialized tracks designed in close collaboration with leading Russian IT companies. Students will dive into artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, microelectronics, digital building information modeling (BIM), and hardware‑software integration. Each curriculum reflects real‑world needs, ensuring graduates are workforce‑ready on day one.

By attracting top talent and industry experts to the Nizhny Novgorod region, NEIMARK aims to spark a local innovation ecosystem where academic learning meets industrial challenges. Nationally, the initiative aligns with Russia’s technological independence strategy, strengthening critical sectors and reducing import reliance. Tuition and living expenses are covered by state grants, making these programs accessible to aspiring students across the country. Applications are open now through July 14, with selection based on portfolios and in‑person project defenses.

From Classroom to Global Markets

NEIMARK’s global vision centers on preparing specialists capable of developing world‑class “smart” devices and digital infrastructure. In microelectronics and the Internet of Things, students will build solutions using Russian components tailored for export markets. The AI master’s track emphasizes research collaboration, offering opportunities to publish in top journals and partner with international peers.

Digital construction students will leverage virtual building twins (BIM) to optimize project management and urban planning nationwide. A modern campus infrastructure—including co‑living dorms and student support services—invites talent from remote regions, boosting Central Russia’s demographic and intellectual potential.

A Springboard for Russia’s IT Renaissance

NEIMARK builds on recent successes in Russian IT education: Skoltech in Moscow (2019) with its AI and nanotech focus; Innopolis University in Kazan (2020), a hybrid of university and startup city; MAI–HSE’s advanced computer vision and machine learning course (2023); the NTI‑Foresight program (2024) nurturing microprocessor; and the Ministry of Construction’s BIM rollout in public works.

Within two to three years, NEIMARK’s first graduates will join real‑world projects, driving startups, attracting venture capital, and forging partnerships with domestic hardware manufacturers. Plans are already underway for international AI collaborations supported by research grants.

This fall, the campus will open state‑of‑the‑art co‑living dorms for all five programs. A joint lab with the AIRI Institute will pioneer neuromorphic AI technologies inspired by the human brain.
