Russia Uses AI-Driven VR Simulators to Teach Public Speaking

A new immersive simulator helps users practice public speaking with the aid of artificial intelligence that analyzes gestures, vocabulary, and audience reactions in real time.

In Russia, VR-based simulators are being used to teach the art of public speaking. One of the most advanced tools is the 'AI-Powered Public Speaking Trainer,' a platform that creates a realistic simulation of delivering a speech in front of a virtual audience.

The system evaluates speech for filler words, slang, and inappropriate language. It also monitors body language, including eye contact and gestures, using neural networks. The AI reacts to even subtle movements like lowered gaze and simulates up to 10 distracting audience behaviors, from applause to intentional interruptions.

The trainer supports PDF presentation uploads, making it a useful tool for professional development. After each session, the system generates a detailed error report and sends it to the user by email. In 'exam mode,' the tool disables hints and scores the performance on a points-based scale.

Developers say the simulator not only sharpens technical skills but also reduces anxiety—boosting speakers’ confidence in front of an audience.

Neural networks are already being used to help people master a wide range of skills, from technical training to language acquisition. Researchers even envision a future where personalized brain-training programs could become commonplace.
