At Russia’s Tavrida.ART Festival, AI Will “Bring Back to Life” Legendary Performers

An ambitious multimedia show will use artificial intelligence to reimagine iconic wartime artists on stage, blending historic legacy with modern tech.

A major creative festival in Crimea, Tavrida.ART, is set to debut a groundbreaking music-and-media production titled “Shoulder to Shoulder: Art and Victory.” Using artificial intelligence, the show will digitally “resurrect” legendary Soviet-era performers of World War II — Lyubov Orlova, Leonid Utyosov, Klavdiya Shulzhenko, Lidiya Ruslanova, Mark Bernes, and Veniamin Basner. Their timeless songs will be reinterpreted in contemporary arrangements performed by the Lugansk Wind Orchestra of the Matusovsky Academy of Culture and Arts, joined by guest stars.

‎“For the first time at Tavrida, wind orchestra music will be presented on such a large and innovative scale. It’s a chance to show young audiences that orchestral music is not just a tradition but a living, dynamic genre that can surprise and inspire,”

said Mikhail Bryzgalov, president of the Russian Wind Music Society.

‎The festival’s 2025 program features over 300 events across five stages, highlighting everything from traditional folk music to cutting-edge multimedia experiments.

‎Organizers describe “Shoulder to Shoulder: Art and Victory” as one of this year’s signature premieres, aiming to fuse historic memory with AI-driven storytelling. They hope the show will let audiences experience the emotional atmosphere of wartime artistry while connecting new generations to cultural icons of the past.
