Russian Student Builds a “Networking Platform” to Connect Scientists and Entrepreneurs

The project aims to bridge academia, industry, and young talent — starting with one of Russia’s leading science cities.

A graduate student from the National Research Nuclear University MEPhI, Sergey Mashurov, has developed a digital matchmaking platform designed to connect researchers, entrepreneurs, and students. The online service will launch in Troitsk, a Moscow science hub known for its concentration of research institutes and industrial companies.

The platform functions like a “business dating site” — companies can post challenges and search for partners, while students can explore employment opportunities and real-world problems faced by science and industry.

Bridging science and production

“I’ve always been interested in the intersection between science and production — in bringing research results into the commercial space,” Mashurov said. “If we involve students in that process, everyone benefits.”

Mashurov’s project was funded through Russia’s “Student Startup” grant program, allowing him not only to launch the site but also to maintain and expand it.

If the pilot in Troitsk succeeds, the platform could be scaled across Russia’s scientific centers, creating a nationwide digital bridge between research and business innovation.
