Tatyana Matveeva: Russia Should Invite International Partners and Show Them Its Technological Capabilities
One of the most important questions is what the government is doing to build the infrastructure that will help Russian companies enter new markets, particularly international ones.
During the seventh Russian Creative Week festival and forum at Moscow's Gorky Park, Tatyana Matveeva, Head of the Presidential Directorate for the Development of Information and Communication Technologies and Communications Infrastructure of the Russian Federation, explained in an exclusive interview how Russia can help domestic developers of digital products expand into the markets of friendly countries and promote Russian values through the IT industry.
– There are many organizations in Russia that help Russian companies operate internationally. One of them is the Russian Export Center, which supports the overseas expansion of a wide range of products, including creative industry offerings promoted under the unified Made in Russia brand.
When it comes to bringing new solutions, particularly digital ones, to international markets, creative approaches are essential. One tool that has been proving its value for several years is the network of digital attachés. Working directly in their host countries, they help balance the interests of local government authorities, local businesses, and Russian companies, making it easier to identify shared priorities quickly and effectively. This year, Russia plans to expand the number of countries with digital attachés to 35. They have already demonstrated their effectiveness.
We also need to invite our international friends to Russia so they can see our technological capabilities firsthand. The country already hosts major international forums. Last year, Globalnyy tsifrovoy forum (Global Digital Forum) was launched in Nizhny Novgorod alongside TsIPR (Digital Industry of Industrial Russia Conference) and brought together representatives from 114 countries. This year, it will be held in Moscow at the Tsifrovye resheniya (Digital Solutions) venue. The forum gives our international colleagues an opportunity to explore technology exhibits, discuss potential areas of cooperation, and exchange ideas based on the values we hope to share. And the phrase "digital forum" should not be misleading, because modern digital technologies now extend into virtually every sector of the economy and society. That includes Smart City technologies as well as solutions for manufacturing and logistics. The forum will become an important platform for presenting the achievements of Russia's IT industry and strengthening practical cooperation with friendly countries.
