Russian Mobile Operators Launch Unified Cybersecurity Platform

Rostelecom and its cybersecurity arm Solar are rolling out a new all-in-one service to protect users from phone scams, phishing websites, and data leaks.

Rostelecom and its subsidiary Solar have launched a unified service aimed at providing comprehensive digital protection for mobile users. As reported by CNews, the platform offers automatic blocking of spam calls, filtering of dangerous websites, monitoring of data breaches, and alerts on changes to users’ credit reports.

Here’s how it works: incoming calls are screened and rejected if they match known scam databases; phishing and malicious websites are blocked automatically, with options for parental controls; and users receive alerts if their personal data—like email addresses or phone numbers—are compromised or used in suspicious credit activities.

Some features, such as spam call filtering and call categorization, are already available for free to all Rostelecom mobile subscribers. Additional functions can be enabled via the user dashboard.

According to the company, the data leak detection tool has already been used over 2.5 million times, signaling strong demand for cybersecurity solutions. Rostelecom plans to expand its suite of digital protection services in the near future.

The new platform is positioned as a response to growing cyberthreats and is specifically designed to support vulnerable groups, including the elderly and children.
