Moscow Inspectors Get AI Assistant to Verify Excavation Work
The Artificial Intelligence Center of the Moscow Urban Planning and Construction Complex has developed a service that can automatically determine whether excavation work is being carried out legally in just a few minutes.

The technology was developed for the Moscow City Trust for Geological, Geodetic, and Cartographic Works. The service analyzes a photograph of a work site together with its geolocation, retrieves the relevant permit documentation based on the coordinates, and performs a compliance check. Within minutes, inspectors receive the results through the interface, including any identified violations.
Development of the service was completed in June. The model was trained on 6,379 photographs, and object recognition is powered by the YOLO26-m computer vision model.
