MTS Bank Integrates Charitable Giving Into Online Checkout

MTS Bank has become the first bank in Russia to integrate its Dobro Pay micro-donation service into partner online storefronts through an API, allowing shoppers to round up purchases in support of charitable organizations.

The service is built directly into the standard online checkout process, eliminating the need to switch to third-party platforms. Customers can round up purchases made with a card issued by any Russian bank, either as a one-time donation or through a recurring subscription. Donors receive a personal dashboard with detailed donation records, can choose both the rounding increment and the charity they wish to support, while participating nonprofits have access to their own dashboard for tracking donation statistics. The platform includes only verified charitable organizations supporting children, older adults, environmental initiatives, and emergency relief efforts.

"Today we are introducing a full-scale fintech service that integrates seamlessly into online storefronts. The next step is to bring the service to brick-and-mortar retailers by enabling purchase roundups at checkout. We expect the number of users to increase fivefold by the end of this year," said Anastasia Grigoryeva, head of MTS Bank's Sustainable Development Programs Center.

In 2026, Dobro Pay received second place in the FINAWARD financial innovation awards.
