EVRAZ ZSMK Deploys Automated Raw Material Dosing System
The new digital system is expected to reduce production costs while enabling the plant to manufacture new steel grades.
EVRAZ ZSMK has completed the modernization of the bunker trestle at its basic oxygen furnace shop, where it deployed a new digital raw material dosing system. The upgrade is designed to significantly reduce production costs.
The modernization has streamlined multiple production processes, including the manufacture of new steel grades that require more precise dosing of alloying additives. The plant has also introduced several additional digital technologies, including radar level sensors, video surveillance with video analytics, a centralized control room equipped with computer workstations, and a pneumatic weight calibration system.
