Russian Teachers Test AI Tutor That Helps Students Prepare for National Exams
Built by tech giant Yandex, the neural network diagnoses learning gaps and designs a personalized study plan for every student.

Russia’s leading tech company Yandex has unveiled an AI-powered tutor designed to help high school students prepare for the country’s Unified State Exam (EGE) in mathematics — the national test required for university admission. The tool, based on the company’s new Alisa AI model, is already available to users and will soon include a full foundational math course.
Personalized Learning Through AI
The standout feature of the system is its ability to build an individualized learning path. After running a diagnostic test that includes problems of varying difficulty, the AI analyzes not only the student’s answers but also the logic behind their problem-solving process. Based on this analysis, it identifies strengths and weaknesses and generates a custom study plan.
The system skips over topics the student has already mastered and focuses on areas where improvement is needed.
Kalashnikov emphasized that the technology represents a glimpse into the future of education, where innovation amplifies human capability.
Yandex’s AI tutor demonstrates how machine learning is reshaping education, turning one of the most stressful milestones for Russian students into a smarter, more accessible experience.
