Students from School No. 136 in Barnaul won the regional stage of the nationwide Inzhenernye kadry Rossii (Engineering Personnel of Russia) competition. The final took place at the end of February at the Talant 22 regional center and brought together 29 teams from Barnaul, Rubtsovsk, Novoaltaysk, Zarinsk and Pospelikha. The Barnaul city administration’s press service reported the results.

In the IKaRPROFIAGROTEKH category, sixth graders Artyom Bezkorovainy and Konstantin Antropov took first place. As part of the AltayProSev team, the young engineers presented a project that impressed the jury: an automated self-propelled seeding mechanism equipped with a precision seed-dispensing system.

Knows Where and How Much to Sow

Experts praised both the technical complexity of the project and its practical value. The system combines a robotic platform with an intelligent seed-metering mechanism. Vacuum or electric dispensers separate seeds to prevent duplicates and gaps. Downforce systems adapt to soil density. The equipment can also automatically adjust the number of seeds per meter depending on the fertility of a given field section.

The project received high marks from specialists and was recognized as the best in its category. Winning the regional stage allows the Barnaul students to advance to the next level of the prestigious engineering competition.

Earlier reports noted that students from the Faculty of Information Technology at Polzunov Altai State Technical University, working with major regional industrial companies, are developing software that improves factory efficiency.
