Doctors in the Chelyabinsk Region have begun extensive testing of Russian AI-powered software designed to accelerate surgical planning. The technology is particularly valuable for patients with serious medical conditions, where every minute saved before surgery can make a difference. Governor Alexey Teksler announced the initiative during a meeting of the region's Council of Chief Physicians.

The AI systems can analyze terabytes of medical data faster than an entire team of physicians while identifying even the smallest potentially dangerous abnormalities. According to the developers, this significantly improves the precision and effectiveness of subsequent surgical procedures.

"This is more than automation – it's a safeguard against human error. The system detects abnormalities at an early stage, making it possible to plan surgery with precision down to fractions of a percent," said physicist Dmitry Lapshin.

Specialists say that reviewing particularly complex cases once took days. The same work can now be completed in a matter of minutes.
