Number of Drone Manufacturing Companies Rises in Russia
A significant share of the growth is driven by small and medium-sized businesses.

The number of small companies developing unmanned systems in Russia has increased, according to the SME Corporation. Over the past year, their number reached 800 – 100 more than a year earlier. Business representatives describe this as strong growth, averaging about 15 percent annually. SME Corporation CEO Alexander Isaevich said the surge reflects rising market demand. Drones are now in high demand, particularly for monitoring industrial facilities, tracking forest fires, and search-and-rescue operations.
Fleet Expands
More than 3,600 companies in Russia specialize in producing components for UAVs, including instruments and navigation systems. According to the Ministry of Transport, unmanned aerial vehicles in Russia completed 20 percent more flights in 2025 than the previous year. More than 28,000 drones were delivered over the year, bringing the country’s UAV fleet to 145,000 units.
