Rostec Unit Unveils Smart Insole to Help Patients Adapt to Prostheses

Rostec’s Center for Innovation in Traumatology and Orthopedics has unveiled a smart insole designed to help patients better adapt to prostheses. The device uses a sensor system to accurately assess walking biomechanics by tracking how the foot rolls during walking. This function is particularly important during the initial adjustment to a prosthesis, helping patients avoid overloading their healthy leg. The insole identifies individual gait patterns, allowing professionals to detect deviations in time and help correct movement patterns before they lead to adverse effects.
“Our main goal is not simply to restore a person’s basic everyday skills, but to give them the opportunity to live a full, active life, including taking part in sports,” said Viktor Spektor, CEO of the Center for Innovation in Traumatology and Orthopedics.
