Rostelecom Deploys 134,000 Cameras to Monitor Russia’s National Exams
Russia’s largest telecom provider has prepared an AI-powered video surveillance system for the 2026 Unified State Exam season, with cameras installed in every examination room across the country.

Rostelecom deployed more than 134,400 surveillance devices across over 6,000 testing sites in 89 Russian regions and 91 international exam centers located in 54 countries. The graduation exams will run from June 1 through July 9, with roughly 750,000 students expected to participate.
The AI system will process live video feeds from 300 classrooms and archived recordings from 1,000 classrooms each day, identifying the use of cheat sheets and mobile phones. Video records will remain stored in distributed data centers until March 2027. In remote areas, exam broadcasts will be transmitted via satellite channels from more than 460 schools across 21 regions.
