Russia has introduced an AI-powered health assistant for parents, integrated into the Propomoshch platform. The new feature was announced by Anna Kuznetsova, vice speaker of the State Duma.

Speaking about the next phase of the Propomoshch platform’s development, Kuznetsova said it is important to “use all modern tools, including digital technologies, to ensure they deliver tangible benefits for people.”

Parents can upload laboratory test results to the system and describe symptoms in free form. The algorithm analyzes the data and, taking a patient’s medical history into account, suggests possible diagnostic options and additional tests.

Support for Remote Regions

Kuznetsova stressed that the tool is not intended to replace a physician but to help families make a preliminary assessment of a child’s condition. For now, the AI assistant is operating in test mode.

“This approach will help families, especially in remote regions, better understand the situation and prepare for an in-person visit to a specialist,” she added.

Earlier, Mikhail Murashko, head of the Ministry of Health of Russia, said AI systems will be introduced in Russia to analyze medical examinations during routine checkups and preventive screenings. Smart assistants are expected to be used for reviewing mammograms, X-rays and CT scans, ECGs, and colonoscopies, as well as during consultations with primary-care and preventive-medicine physicians.
