Russia to Launch Pilot for Electronic Data Exchange Between Government Agencies
A unified interagency system is being created to streamline how state data is shared.
The Russian government is set to launch a pilot program for electronic data exchange between government agencies to improve operational efficiency. A decree outlining the initiative has been published on the official government website. The experiment will involve federal executive authorities, state institutions, and extra-budgetary funds. It is scheduled to begin on February 20 and run through December 31, 2027. Data will be provided strictly on request.
A Unified System
Data exchange will be carried out via a single interagency electronic interaction system. Response times to data requests will be capped at five days. The experiment will be coordinated by the Ministry of Digital Development, Communications and Mass Media of the Russian Federation, with participating agencies required to submit reports on outcomes to the ministry.
The government says the initiative is part of a broader push toward “digital maturity” in public administration. The pilot will initially cover 33 categories of data.
Roman Pereponov, chief information security officer at GreenData, added that interagency data exchange should shorten service delivery timelines, cut government operating costs, speed up decision-making, and improve overall decision quality.
