Russia Expands Cooperation With China in Artificial Intelligence
A delegation of Chinese researchers visited MIPT and took part in joint AI-focused events.
A meeting with a delegation from Peking University was held at the Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology, marking a new stage in Russian-Chinese cooperation in artificial intelligence and machine learning. The delegation included 16 professors, university administrators, and students from one of China’s leading research centers.
During the visit, the Chinese researchers toured laboratories at MIPT’s Institute of Artificial Intelligence, reviewed ongoing projects, and took part in a scientific seminar focused on advanced AI research. The discussions covered potential formats for long-term collaboration and the launch of joint research initiatives.
Ambitious Plans
The two sides also outlined plans to expand academic mobility, including exchange programs for students and researchers, as well as to deepen industrial partnerships involving major Chinese IT companies. The chosen cooperation framework is expected to accelerate the practical adoption of research results and increase the real-world impact of joint studies.
Earlier, Russian President Vladimir Putin announced that 2026 and 2027 would be designated as years of Russian-Chinese cooperation in education. This creates favorable conditions for expanding scientific exchanges and strengthening ties between universities in both countries.
