Yugra and Yandex to Expand Partnership on Regional Digital Transformation
The government of the Khanty-Mansi Autonomous Okrug – Yugra is set to sign a cooperation agreement with Yandex during the International IT Forum with the participation of BRICS and SCO countries, which will take place in Khanty-Mansiysk from June 17 to 19.
The agreement is intended to support the deployment of advanced digital technologies and the region's development amid the ongoing global digital transformation.
According to Deputy Governor and Director of the Department of Information Technology and Digital Development Pavel Tsiporin, the agreement includes adding indigenous regional languages to Yandex Translate, integrating domestically developed office software into the regional government's IT infrastructure, and expanding digital communication services. Several of those services are already being tested in the region. Yugra is expected to sign four cooperation agreements during the forum.
