Takeout Orders Can Be Picked Up From Lockers Using a QR Code
The pilot is part of the Restaurant of the Future concept.
Russian fast-food chain Vkusno – i tochka has launched a new pickup option at two locations: 6 Kustanaiskaya Street and 54 Izmailovsky Prospekt. To use it, customers must update the chain’s mobile app, select one of the participating restaurants, and choose “Express Lockers” as the pickup method.
When an order is ready, customers receive a notification. They then scan the QR code displayed on the locker unit, and the assigned compartment opens automatically. Customers have 15 minutes to collect their food; after that, the order is discarded.
Karina Pogosova, senior vice president of development and franchising at Vkusno – i tochka, said the trial will show how popular and convenient the format is for customers. The system is also intended to make employees’ work easier. If the pilot succeeds, the chain plans to consider introducing Express Lockers at other restaurants.
