Specialists at the Voronezhenergo branch of Rosseti Center have completed the installation of a distributed automation system in the Verkhnekhavsky District of the Voronezh Region. The project covered 13 long power transmission lines. Sixteen reclosers and ten controlled motor-driven disconnectors were installed there. They help quickly detect and localize faults in network sections. In addition, at three 35 kV substations, oil circuit breakers have been replaced with modern vacuum devices featuring remote control capability.

"In the event of a fault, the system can automatically disconnect the affected section and, where technically feasible, restore power to some consumers via a backup scheme. This shortens the time needed to locate the fault and reduces the number of consumers left without electricity until repair work is completed," company representatives explained.

Following the work, the quality of power supply has been improved for 22,000 consumers.
