Rosatom Equips Rooppur Nuclear Power Plant Units With Control Systems
The infrastructure project is underway in the People’s Republic of Bangladesh.

Rosatom has completed the installation of automated process control systems on both units of the Rooppur Nuclear Power Plant, which is under construction in Bangladesh. The delivery includes about 20,000 pieces of equipment for 43 systems. These systems are essential to ensuring safety.
One of the key components is the Operator Information Support System, which uses digital twins of the reactor units. The system is already operating on Unit 1 and will soon be installed on Unit 2. It consolidates fragmented process data and presents it in an easy-to-understand format, helping operators work more efficiently.
“Rooppur is not only the
largest cooperation project between the Russian Federation and the People’s
Republic of Bangladesh, but also our flagship project for the use of advanced
automation and control technologies. It is the first Rosatom nuclear power plant
outside Russia to implement the Operator Information Support System. The system
helps operators respond faster and reduce operating costs,” said Alexey
Likhachev, CEO of Rosatom.
