The university is the first in Russia to connect to the System of Interagency Electronic Interaction (SMEV) and begin billing students for tuition through the State Information System on State and Municipal Payments (GIS GMP).

The system automatically generates bills for tuition and university housing. Students receive payment notifications through Gosuslugi (Russia’s public services portal), banking apps, the university’s online account portal, and a mini-app in the Max messaging platform. They can pay with a single click, with no transaction fee.

“The introduction of a unified payment system has been more than a technology project; it marks a fundamentally new level of engagement with students. We were the first Russian university to start issuing bills through the Unified Portal of Public Services (EPGU), a familiar and convenient way to pay government charges. As a result, we now have a unified system for monitoring and tracking payments, making the process as simple and transparent as possible for students and their parents,” said Alexey Nikitin, head of the Financial University’s Digital Technology Directorate.

As of September 1, 2026, the system had more than 305,000 bills on record, with 84.3 percent paid. Annual savings on payment processing fees exceed 21 million rubles (about $250,000), and the time needed to collect payments has fallen to one day.
