Moscow Doctors Can Access Patient Information Before the Appointment

The Moscow government has implemented more than 130 artificial intelligence projects across various sectors. AI technologies are already used in healthcare, transport, education, construction and public services. In 2025 alone, the city introduced more than 20 new digital solutions, Sergey Sobyanin wrote in his blog.

“Artificial intelligence helps design buildings, optimize procurement, write code and solve many other tasks. Some of the technologies introduced are developed by the city itself, while others are provided by our business partners. Large-scale adoption of artificial intelligence fully aligns with the goals of the national project Tsifrovaya ekonomika (Digital Economy),” Sobyanin wrote.

AI Assistants for Doctors

Artificial intelligence has already become a full-fledged tool in healthcare, particularly in radiology. Today Moscow radiologists use more than 60 AI services. These systems help detect signs of disease across 43 clinical areas.

In 2025 doctors began using two new services designed to diagnose multiple fractures of the ankle and wrist joints. Another AI tool helps identify fractures of the shoulder joint – one of the most difficult areas to interpret on X-ray images. The systems can detect even the smallest cracks and often identify several pathologies where a doctor might initially see only one. This helps physicians choose the most effective treatment strategy.

Summarizing Electronic Medical Records

One of the key innovations introduced last year was an AI service that summarizes data from the EMK (Electronic Medical Record). Even before the appointment, a doctor receives a brief structured summary showing when and why the patient previously sought medical care, what examinations were conducted, which medications were prescribed and whether the patient called emergency services regarding the current complaint.

This significantly reduces the time needed to collect medical history while ensuring that no important details are missed. By the end of January, the system had generated more than 17 million such summaries.

With the help of the AI assistant Alisa, patients can also add their own health indicators to the EMK – including blood pressure, pulse, weight, height, temperature, blood sugar levels and oxygen saturation. They can also manage appointments with doctors and schedule medical tests. More than 100,000 such entries have already been made.

Earlier reports said artificial intelligence is helping design a “clinic of the future” in Moscow.
