In Yekaterinburg, 5G Network Deployed Using Russian-Made Equipment
The project was implemented by MegaFon and YADRO.

MegaFon and YADRO have deployed a 5G mobile network built entirely with Russian-made equipment. The network will operate throughout the International Youth Festival at Yekaterinburg-EXPO.
The network is based on YADRO base stations built on the 5G-Ready platform. Festival visitors will be able to experience the full range of capabilities offered by the new technology.
“By demonstrating the new technology at the International Youth Festival, we are showing that Russian-made technologies are already entering the 5G market. The fifth-generation network at the event venue will help international visitors stay connected, enable organizers and volunteers to quickly resolve navigation issues and coordinate their activities, and allow participants to share festival moments instantly,” said Alexei Titov, MegaFon’s technical director.
Notably, all compatible smartphones can connect to the network without prior registration.
