A hematology analyzer developed by AMG, a resident company of the advanced development territory Snezhinsk, has been entered into the State Register of Medical Devices maintained by Russia’s healthcare watchdog Roszdravnadzor. The device, branded Snezinka, was announced by Atom-TOR, a Rosatom subsidiary.

The milestone marks a key step in bringing a domestically produced medical device to market. The analyzer is designed for quantitative blood cell analysis in clinical diagnostic laboratories and can measure 29 parameters in a single sample. It is equipped with an automatic sample loader intended to streamline laboratory workflows.

Building a Prototype

Developers now face their next major tasks: assembling a pilot unit and establishing stable supply chains for components. In the longer term, the team plans to apply to the Ministry of Industry and Trade to have Snezinka included in the official registry of Russian industrial products.

Earlier, we reported that researchers at the Far Eastern Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences had begun developing an innovative chip for instant blood analysis. The technology is expected to enable a full biochemical test within minutes directly in a physician’s office.
