Vyacheslav Tsyganov, executive director of the group, announced the program at the TsIPR-2026 conference in Nizhny Novgorod. According to the organizers, the initiative has no direct equivalent in Russia, with a similar model existing only at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.

Research teams from any Russian university or scientific organization can apply to participate. Scientists are not required to transfer to Central University, and intellectual property rights will remain with the researchers. Funding of up to 5 million rubles ($~64,000) will be transferred directly to participating institutions. Priority areas include AI-powered biomedicine, advanced materials, agricultural technologies, smart logistics, and cybersecurity.

“T-Technologies views science as a high-margin business with a long investment horizon. We are creating a safe environment for innovation, so even if a business hypothesis does not succeed, the work will still remain a valuable contribution to a researcher’s scientific activity,” Tsyganov said.

Applications will be accepted through June 15, 2026. Selected projects are scheduled to begin work in September.
