In Russia, Astra Monitoring 1.3.0 Is Released With Built-In APM

Astra Monitoring 1.3.0, the latest major update from Russian infrastructure software developer Gruppa Astra, integrates infrastructure and application monitoring through built-in APM capabilities. The upgrade allows engineers to identify root causes of slowdowns and outages in seconds, improving reliability across critical digital environments.

Visualizing System Dependencies

The new Astra Monitoring 1.3.0 release, developed by Gruppa Astra, expands the capabilities of the Russian IT infrastructure, product and application monitoring platform. Its central enhancement is integrated APM, or Application Performance Monitoring. Engineers can now trace the entire request-processing chain across distributed systems through an interactive service map. The map automatically displays component dependencies, response times at each stage and performance bottlenecks. This gives specialists the ability to pinpoint the source of slowdowns and system failures in seconds and to optimize IT infrastructure based on real-time performance data.

Ease of use was a priority in the update, prompting a redesign of the user interface. Navigation is now more intuitive, with core functions placed front and center. New tools include a rapid agent installation page, a flexible time picker with query history, expanded event filtering and centralized notification management. Automatic data refresh is supported across all time intervals, ensuring dashboards and event logs reflect current system status.

Faster Incident Response

The release also strengthens capabilities for managing network equipment. The SNMP module now includes fixes for critical errors, a built-in template editor and automatic decoding of SNMP traps.

Version 1.3.0 is the result of comprehensive work that introduced 16 new features and 84 improvements. Astra Monitoring now delivers unprecedented analytical depth – from infrastructure metrics to business application performance – providing technical teams with full visibility and predictability across digital services

These improvements enable faster response to network incidents. Data collection setup and agent management are handled through a web interface, simplifying operational workflows. According to the developers, the update focused heavily on stability and performance. Trace rendering speed has increased by a factor of 15. A database migration system has been introduced to enable secure upgrades. More than 100 bugs across all platform components have been resolved. The closure of a critical vulnerability further enhances the overall security posture of the solution.

Strengthening IT Independence

The updated platform unifies monitoring of critical infrastructure and business applications within a single system. That consolidation is particularly important as organizations deepen digital transformation efforts and depend on uninterrupted service availability. The release reduces reliance on foreign application performance monitoring tools and supports broader import substitution initiatives in critical IT environments. By deploying Astra Monitoring, Russian IT teams gain access to detailed application performance analytics without depending on external vendors.

Domestically, the product is positioned for adoption across government agencies and large enterprises with strict requirements for data security and fault tolerance. Astra Monitoring is already included in the Ediny reestr rossiyskogo PO, or Unified Register of Russian Software, simplifying procurement for organizations mandated to use locally developed software. Looking ahead, a monitoring platform built around a domestic ecosystem and independent of Western suppliers may attract interest in regions with strict data localization policies, including the Middle East, Asia and CIS countries.
