INSYTE Electronics Eyes Smart City Projects in Thailand
Perm-based INSYTE Electronics joined a SmartCities business mission in Thailand, where its urban automation and energy management solutions drew interest from local partners.

INSYTE Electronics, a company based in Perm, took part in an international SmartCities business mission in Thailand. The Russian developer’s smart city solutions attracted strong interest from potential partners.
The Russian Export Center organized the mission to promote innovative solutions from Russian developers that can support smart city deployments.
INSYTE Electronics presented two of its flagship products to Thai partners. “Umnyy dom INSYTE” (INSYTE Smart Home) is an automated system that can be deployed across a wide range of sites – from residential apartments to industrial facilities.
The second product is the EMS INSYTE hardware and software platform for energy resource monitoring. The system connects to multiple types of meters to collect data from assets ranging from individual buildings to entire districts and municipalities. It then processes and analyzes that data, with results displayed through digital dashboards.

Thai companies evaluated not only the functionality of these solutions but also their economic performance. Key advantages include a stated service life of 20 years and an extended 10-year warranty. At the same time, the Russian solution is priced significantly lower than comparable products on the market.
As a result, five Thai companies expressed interest in long-term partnerships, while four more plan to further evaluate INSYTE Electronics’ products for use in their own projects.
From Export Contact to Strategic Partnership
The outcome of the mission points to growing momentum both for INSYTE Electronics and for Russia’s broader IT sector. In Southeast Asia, Thailand is one of the leading adopters of smart technologies, with large-scale infrastructure projects that integrate building automation and energy-efficient systems.
Based on agreements reached during the mission, INSYTE Electronics is likely to move beyond product sales toward establishing a local presence with a full suite of integrated solutions, participating in major projects through partnership models.

Experience and a Platform for Growth
INSYTE Electronics began building its network in 2001. By 2018, it had become the largest smart home technology manufacturer in Russia, with 534 offices across Russia and the CIS. In 2021, the company attempted to enter the U.S. market, but further expansion was limited by geopolitical factors.
Over the years, the company has delivered more than 14,000 projects of varying complexity. Its portfolio includes automation of one of the largest hotel complexes in Yekaterinburg – TENET, full automation of the Martial Arts Center in Sochi’s Olympic Park, and many other projects.

A Signal for the Industry
INSYTE Electronics’ participation in the SmartCities mission in Thailand reflects more than a single company’s success. This highlights opportunities for Russian IT firms to expand into new markets, particularly in Southeast Asia. The case shows that Russian hardware and software providers can compete in markets dominated by global vendors, offering reliability, long service life, and competitive pricing.
Developers also benefit from state support, in this case through the Russian Export Center. The key challenge is to move beyond initial contracts and demonstrate the ability to deliver ongoing technical support alongside equipment and software. Meeting that requirement will be critical to sustaining long-term international expansion.
