Khakassia Capital Launches Urban Monitoring Digitalization Project
By November 2026, a network of 24 high-resolution cameras will be deployed along key transport routes in Abakan.
The equipment will monitor vandalism and illegal dumping, with plans to integrate it into the regional Safe City system.
The cameras will be installed at upgraded public transport shelters along Druzhby Narodov Avenue and Shchetinkina, Pushkina and Abakanskaya streets. Their high-resolution sensors will make it possible to identify offenders in the future. Particular attention will be paid to the intersection of Novogodniy Passage and Beloyarskaya Street, an area historically prone to illegal dumping. Video surveillance will help prevent damage to municipal property and record environmental violations.
The system is scheduled to become operational in November 2026, after which it will provide round-the-clock monitoring. The Abakan administration said the equipment will not operate independently but will be connected to the Safe City hardware and software system. This will bring video feeds from multiple locations into a single situational center and support public safety monitoring across the region.
