Russia Launches AI-Powered Software to Optimize Oil Well Performance

A new system developed by Rosneft scientists can analyze well conditions in real time, boosting output and cutting processing time.
Engineers at Rosneft’s research institute in Ufa have developed EchoTools, Russia’s first artificial intelligence-based software for analyzing oil well operations. The system, which is already patented and being rolled out across production facilities, was reported by Neftegaz.ru.
EchoTools monitors fluid levels and sound velocity in the annular space of a well in real time. Using this data, the software calculates bottomhole pressure and recommends optimal operating parameters, helping increase oil output.
The key benefits of the tool are faster decision-making and improved production efficiency. As a digital assistant, EchoTools streamlines operational workflows and maximizes well performance.
Previously, Rosneft introduced a laser-based oil spill monitoring system. EchoTools continues the company’s focus on digital innovation aimed at optimizing extraction and minimizing environmental risks.
The adoption of EchoTools underscores Russia’s leadership in digital oil production and enhances the international competitiveness of its energy sector specialists.
