Russia to Honor Top Digital Journalists in National Media Awards

A new competition is spotlighting journalists and creators who bring the digital transformation story to the public — across ten distinct categories.

Russia is launching its annual 'Digital Journalism' awards, inviting participation from professional journalists in national and regional media, online publishers, bloggers, and press secretaries from digital agencies. The initiative is aimed at supporting public communication projects and raising awareness around digital transformation, cybersecurity, and tech innovation.

The competition will evaluate news articles, analysis pieces, podcasts, interviews, publication series, and even Telegram channels, all focused on IT topics. Judges will assess submissions based on credibility, relevance, public impact, and alignment with the digital transformation theme.

Winners will be announced in mid-November and will receive professional recognition as well as opportunities to shape how technology is covered in the media landscape.

Creative industry competitions are a longstanding tradition in Russia. The country’s top journalism prize remains the Golden Pen of Russia.
