Russian Students to Explore Future AI Tech in “Lesson in Digital”
From September 22 to October 12, schoolchildren across Russia will get free access to an educational program on AI-powered agents — the next step in artificial intelligence.

The nationwide “Lesson in Digital” project kicks off its new season with a focus on one of the most advanced areas in IT: AI agents. The first lesson of the academic year will explain how these smart assistants work and where they are applied, highlighting their role as a major evolution beyond chatbots and large language models.
The program is designed to be engaging for students of all ages. Kids will learn how AI agents differ from familiar technologies and see their practical value in everyday life. All that’s needed to participate is a smartphone with internet access, thanks to a mobile-friendly version.
Sergey Plugotarenko, CEO of the Digital Economy non-profit, said initiatives like this bring the younger generation into the world of digital technology. He stressed that it’s a vital step in preparing the highly skilled professionals who will drive the country’s IT sector in the years ahead.
Teachers are being supported too. Organizers prepared detailed guidelines with different formats for classrooms with varying levels of equipment. An additional online session with the lesson’s developers will be held for educators on September 17 through the program’s official website.
The initiative is part of Russia’s national “Digital Economy” project.
