Russia’s Largest Workplace Platform Adds Offline Mode and Cross-Company Messaging

VK WorkSpace’s latest update lets users manage email and documents without internet access and introduces faster, more secure communication tools for businesses.

Russia’s corporate communications platform VK WorkSpace has rolled out a major update, introducing a long-awaited offline mode and an upgraded “super app” that unites email, chat, video calls, and document management.

According to Petr Shcheglov, VK WorkSpace’s product director, users can now read and send emails, edit documents, and manage calendars offline, with all changes automatically syncing once the device reconnects to the internet. The system also adds new security features, including end-to-end encryption, screenshot blocking, and alerts when a VPN is activated.

Smarter, Faster Communication

The platform’s new geo-distributed email system accelerates internal mail delivery by routing messages within each organization. A revamped corporate messenger now enables cross-company communication, while video calls can host up to 500 participants. The integrated calendar includes room booking features for streamlined meeting coordination.

VK WorkSpace, already one of Russia’s largest enterprise platforms, is positioning the update as a step toward a fully autonomous digital workspace, capable of running seamlessly even without an internet connection.
