Russia’s VK Workspace Blocks Record 421 Million Spam and Phishing Emails
The corporate communications platform deploys advanced AI and OCR technology to stop cyberattacks before they reach users.

VK Workspace, Russia’s largest corporate communication platform, reported a record 421 million spam and phishing emails blocked between July and September 2025 — its strongest quarter yet in combating digital threats. The majority of intercepted messages were spam, but several companies also faced targeted phishing attacks aimed at stealing employee logins and passwords or spreading malware through infected attachments.
Many of the phishing emails were indistinguishable from legitimate business correspondence, mimicking messages from well-known brands and even government portals to trick recipients.
Advanced AI at Work
According to Anatoly Tutynin, director of information security at VK Tech, the platform relies on machine learning and optical character recognition (OCR) to detect and neutralize threats.
The company continues to expand VK Workspace’s capabilities, introducing enhanced security features, document collaboration, and a new encrypted messenger for inter-company communication — all part of its effort to build a secure, all-in-one digital ecosystem for corporate users.
