The new campus has 30 workstations and all the facilities needed for studying and working on projects. Residents can train for in-demand digital careers free of charge and gain experience solving real-world problems, while local companies can recruit graduates for internships and collaborative projects.

Sberbank CEO and Chairman of the Executive Board Herman Gref spoke at the opening. He said Shkola 21 offers not only knowledge but, more importantly, practical skills, while collaborative work brings together future engineers, programmers and artificial intelligence professionals.

“What is especially important to us is that this space is being created together with the governor’s team and brings together people interested in professional development. Shkola 21 will open up new opportunities for people across the peninsula and become part of the region’s broader development strategy – a place that produces highly skilled professionals, builds a community, develops new capabilities and creates an environment where people want to live, work and help develop Kamchatka,” Sberbank’s press service quoted Gref as saying.

The school has already launched its first 14-day selection intensive. A total of 340 Kamchatka residents applied, and 30 are now taking part in the selection process, ranging from experienced IT professionals to newcomers with no previous industry experience.
