Transneft Patents Software for Detecting Oil Pipeline Leaks
Transneft Research Institute LLC, together with Transneft Technologies LLC, has developed the TLDS (Transneft Leak Detection System) software for the Evolyutsiya. SKADA (Evolution SCADA) platform.
The software has received a certificate of state registration from Rospatent. The intellectual property rights are held by PJSC Transneft and other organizations within the Transneft group.
The software continuously monitors the integrity of trunk pipeline sections under all operating conditions, including steady-state pumping, transient operating modes, and shutdown periods. Within a specified time interval, it determines whether a leak has occurred, calculates its location and estimated leak rate, and alerts dispatch personnel. The system provides both real-time and historical data, while validating input information for accuracy, including through manual verification.
The new software is planned to be deployed across all trunk pipeline facilities operated by organizations within the Transneft group. Evolyutsiya. SKADA (Evolution SCADA) is a high-performance real-time platform previously developed by the company for use across multiple industrial sectors.
