Timiryazev Academy Students Win Grants for Agricultural Technology Projects
Two first-year students from the Project Institute for the Digital Transformation of the Agro-Industrial Complex at the K. A. Timiryazev Russian State Agrarian University – Moscow Timiryazev Agricultural Academy won the seventh round of the Student Startup competition
Each project will receive a grant of 1 million rubles for further development, bringing the total funding for the two student initiatives to 2 million rubles.
Yegor Dzhioyev presented FractScan, a platform for rapid plant condition assessment using digital images. The system combines computer vision, mathematical analysis and machine learning to evaluate plant structure and identify abnormalities. The technology is intended for use in crop production and plant breeding.
Dmitry Stepanov won with ICE, a generative AI assistant for agronomy and education. The assistant uses natural language processing, speech synthesis and speech recognition, as well as intelligent data visualization. It is designed to hold conversations with users and provide voice guidance while they perform tasks.
Both projects were evaluated by specialists from Rosselkhozbank, the industrial partner of the university's educational programs. The grants will be used to further develop the solutions and test working prototypes.
