Number of Delivery Robots in Moscow Exceeds 400

Delivery robots in Moscow now deliver more than 1,500 orders a day, with an average delivery time of about 15 minutes. The figures were announced by Maksim Liksutov, Moscow's deputy mayor for transport and industry.

The robots now operate in 51 districts of the city, while the service had already been launched earlier in another 31 districts. More than 400 robots are currently in operation across the capital.

"Following the instructions of Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin, we are introducing new technologies that improve residents' comfort and convenience," Liksutov said.

The new districts are being served by a new generation of robots, the first mass-produced models from Yandex featuring an updated suspension for better mobility and a more powerful computing unit. According to the Moscow Department of Transport, a dedicated neural network now plans the robot's route and predicts its surroundings more accurately, helping it handle urban scenarios more reliably. Tests showed that the neural network-based planner reduced average delivery time by about 10%.
