Moscow's Vnukovo Airport has fully replaced the software used to manage baggage handling operations. Previously, the airport relied on systems developed by the Dutch company Vanderlande and the German company Beumer.

The migration to Russian software took about two years to complete. The new digital platform includes a SCADA system for supervisory control and data acquisition, an industrial automation system, and software for programmable logic controller (PLC) management. Together, these systems make it possible to monitor baggage movements at every stage of the handling process and share operational data with all relevant airport services.

Vnukovo's baggage handling system includes 90 check-in counters, two transfer lines, 10 baggage claim carousels, and a multi-level security screening system. It is capable of processing up to 5,400 pieces of baggage per hour.
