Yandex is expanding its robot delivery service to five additional locations across Russia, the company’s press service said.

The service is currently available in Moscow, St. Petersburg, Kazan, Murino, and Innopolis, where robots have completed more than 1 million deliveries. The rollout will soon extend to new areas. In April, deliveries will begin in the Novo-Savinovsky and Sovetsky districts of Kazan, as well as in the Moscow region cities of Khimki, Lyubertsy, Odintsovo, and Dolgoprudny.

Robots are also set to arrive in Nizhny Novgorod by the end of June, serving the Sormovsky, Moskovsky, and Kanavinsky districts. Initially, they will deliver orders from Yandex Lavka, with Yandex Eda and Yandex Delivery to follow.

Expanding Coverage

Before launching in new areas, mapping robots are deployed to survey routes and generate ultra-detailed maps. These maps allow delivery robots to navigate reliably in any weather and at any time of day.

In Nizhny Novgorod, Kazan, and the Moscow region, fourth-generation robots introduced in fall 2025 will be deployed. These models are easier to manufacture and more cost-effective, while offering improved mobility and enhanced lidar systems.

Yandex plans to produce 20,000 such robots by the end of 2027. As delivery robots become more widespread, the cost of this delivery method continues to decrease, the company said.
