CityTaxi released a major update for its mobile application, adding features designed to keep the service running under limited mobile network conditions.

If a connection drops, users are immediately prompted to connect to the nearest Wi‑Fi hotspot. The feature can be accessed directly through the Siti Driver app. In addition, if network speeds are too low, the app automatically offers passengers the option to place orders by phone, with cash payments available for those rides.

Several of the updates are also aimed at drivers. They can now receive ride confirmations and route details via SMS messages sent by dispatchers.

“Our goal is to keep the service operating reliably under any conditions. Adding offline functionality and expanding the Wi‑Fi network will help users stay connected even in areas with unstable mobile coverage, while preserving the convenience and accessibility of the service,” company executives said.

Earlier, a pilot project in Dolgoprudny led to more than 2,000 downloads of the CityTaxi app.
